Tag Printer:
You can use standard letter sized Avery labels to print tags for your inventory on your existing standard printer(s). However, if you would like to make tag printing easier, we recommend purchasing a designated label printer for better performance and quality. We recommend using 2” x 4” labels.

Recommended Purchase:
- Cognitive Ci 4” DT - Direct Thermal application
- Up to 4” wide printing - Speeds up to 8” Per Second

Barcode Scanner
If you are using RMPro to print tags with barcodes, you may also want to purchase a barcode scanner to read these barcodes. There are essentially two different methods of barcode scanning, which are ‘Direct Input’ and ‘Batch’ scanning. Direct Input scanners send the scanned number directly to the computer immediately after you scan it. These scanners are best for Point-Of-Sale purchases and scanning small groups of items. Direct Input scanners may be connected either by a wire or wirelessly with a receiving cradle. Batch Scanners store all the scanned barcode numbers in the scanner’s memory until you upload them to the computer. These scanners are best for taking a physical inventory, or otherwise scanning larger groups of items at a time.

Almost all barcode scanners available on the market are capable of configuring for RMPro. However, it is not necessary to purchase a scanner with too many special features, unless you plan on taking advantage of these special features yourself.

Recommended Purchase:
- Motorola MT2070
- Option to add Bluetooth capability
- Supports both Direct Input and Batch scanning methods
- Includes Microsoft Windows CE
- Withstands 6-foot drops to concrete

Card Reader

RMPro’s Point-Of-Sale module has built-in payment processing with Merchant Warehouse and with ICVerify. If you are using one of these payment processing systems, you will need to purchase a credit card reader. You may choose to use a card reader without using a payment processing system as well to just collect the card’s information. However, you must purchase an encrypted card reader if you are using the Merchant Warehouse processing system. They can provide you an encrypted card reader if you choose their service.

Recommended Purchase:
- Unitech K2724 Dual Track with Keyboard
- Card reader is built-in to the computer keyboard
- Plugs in to standard PS/2 Keyboard interface
- Additional barcode scanner can plug directly into keyboard through serial port
- Cleans up space by combining two devices into one
- NOT encrypted (Cannot use with Merchant Warehouse)
